"In the 30 years that I've been doing this for a living, I've never had a parent say to me, 'I regretted the time I spent with my son or child in Scouting.'"

This is an introduction to Backpacking trip for Troop 235 scouts. Prior experience with backpacking is not required to sign up for this trip.
Every participant (youth and adult) will need to have their own backpack along with all the necessary gear to camp overnight.
There will be a mandatory gear check at the troop meeting on June 3rd. All participants (youth and adult) need to bring their backpacks along with all gear for review with Mr. Gogosha.
Unfortunately, REI no longer offers rental program for backpacking packs. Crew members are encouraged to use their scouting funds from Tree Lot 2024 to look for good deals on backpacks. It is highly recommended to get your backpack fitted properly. REI staff are very good at offering tips on proper fitting of backpacks.

Please come prepared with your blue cards opened, worksheets filled out, and ready to discuss the requirements with the counselors. If you have any questions, please contact Doris Nguyen.
"Hi everyone, if you are free on Saturday the 12th, I would appreciate some help! We will be building and priming two small benches and a stool, and the work will be more fun and hands-on instead of shoveling or something. It will be at my house: 11021 Gold Star Lane, Santa Ana, CA 92705. I will be hosting two shifts: 8:00-12:00 and 12:00-4:00. I will have FOOD, and definitely feel free to stay for both shifts.
If you have a drill or impact driver I can borrow for the day, I would like to borrow 2 of each. Please add that as a note under your signup, along with if you will be attending shift 1, 2, or both.
Please bring gloves if you have them.
*I will only take scouts 14+ because we will be using power tools.*
